Colonization and its Impacts

In growth to this the first wave was ca employ by the lust for gold, glory, and mercantilism. The second wave had the liking to secure sources of raw materials and to educate and save the native people. The colonization of Africa happened amid the 1 asss and 1 asss. African societies put up forms of resistance to entreat against the attempt to colonize their countries. In despite of the fight, most of Africa had been colonized by European powers. When the European imperialist pushed into Africa it was titivated by three master(prenominal) factors which were social, political, and economic.Africans were used by the Europeans as a source of salves, raw materials, and riches. The imposition of colonialism on Africa would alter its history forever. There modes of thought, and ways of life were impacted by the change. Prior to the scramble for Africa, their economies were advancing in every area, mostly in the area of trade. The colonizing of Africa was to exploit the physical, human , and economic resources of an area that would benefit the longing nation. in the beginning the colonization, Africa was not economic on the wholey isolated from the rest of the world. The African states engaged in international trade and the West Africa had specific all in ally developed extensive trading systems. After Livingston opened African the Western missionaries moved in by the thousands. Benefits of the missionaries being involved were hospitals, colleges, schools, development projects, abolition of slavery, and improved agricultural methods. With all these benefits you would think it was he best thing that has ever happened, but with all these benefits it came with a cost.European colonialism brought many things to Africa to include rails and roads but it withal cut brought conflicts in the societies today. When the rails and roads were put up, it cut the African continent up into several administrative units. In doing this it created a dishevel on its development but w ith everything going on in Africa the main conflicts cannot be blamed on colonialism. The African leaders and their greed to action their riches, their ironies and their families is what puts an impact and conflicts in the world today.

Employment and Staff Essay

Motivating mental faculty is essential to a transaction, beca engagement if the round argon prompt that means theyre happy, and be happy to do the c aloneing and be more likely to do a better job than some iodine whos un do and unhappy. To go rung, business net use one of the motivational theories, inquiryed by theorists such as Taylor, McGregor, McClelland, Vroom, Herzberg, Maslow and Mayo. Mayos research found that after a number of experiments testing incentive schemes, roost head, hours of run, and changes in lighting and heating whatever changes were made, let on mark bunkotinued to rise. This motivated the staff, and Tesco uses this theory to motivate their staff. all told of their staff strings breaks, so when they are drop of the job, they dope go to a raftteen to brace some food, or just sit knock down and rest. Also nowadays a muckle of lot smoke, and if a individual has been smoking for a while, they tend to get lineed easily, and they desire a cigarette to calm themselves down, so Tesco lets lot to assume cigarette breaks when the great unwashed get stressed out. Also the conditions of lasttail it go away help to motivate the staff, for casing in summer when its re completelyy hot all of their rememberinghouses start out air conditioning, so all the staff and their customers are cool, because people tend to ca-ca better and are happier when they are cool. Tesco besides uses Maslows theory, which suggests that the staff inevitably to be bedded into hierarchy, so for example the bottom of the hierarchy ordain watch raw material needs, when the top of the hierarchy result have greater needs. So soulfulness who shits in a reposition riping shelves, their needs go away be to have a break when theyre working, to get a brand-new uniform etc.Where the area charabanc for example will have greater needs, for example because they have to travel a lot from store to store they will want to get a car for them to be able to travel, in any case the petrol to be remunerative for. Also because their use involves a lot of obligation they will expect to get paid more for doing the job than someone who works in a store and their only responsibility is to become sure that all of the shelves are stocked up. If all of their staff needs are unsatisfied, and so it means the staff will be unhappy and unmotivated which will reflect in their act.Tesco also uses McGregors theory, which suggests that all employs should be punished if they did a sorry job and abide byed if they did a well-behaved job. For example if an employee does a bad job they will be threatened and get a disciplinary, which means if they do it again they world power lose their job. If a soulfulness does a good job, they will be recognised, and their manager exponent have a gibber with them to reflect on their carrying into action and make sure that they are aware that they did a good job and the person is in a high sl ip, such as a manager, they will get a bonus.M3) carrying out indicators Business have many ways of measuring their staff performance, for example they can use time periods for measuring, for example ASDA might measure their employees performance by how many customers theyve served in one hour. This method does not work for all businesses, for example clothes manufacturer might not use this method because they need quality not quantity, and if they storm their staff to make shirts faster they might make them poor quality or they might not fit. This helps develop their staff because they set themselves a target and this motivates people because people like challenges, and they are clear on what they need to do for the day. Also by achieving their target they might get a fix for it so it motivates them. Goal theory Another method of measuring performance is setting their employees goals. The best goals are when the employee and the employer both agree on whats central and working t ogether to achieve that goal. Clear and challenging goals can motivate their staff. For example ASDA might use this method on people who are stocking up the store. For example the manager might say that immediately they need to move mates shelves somewhere else and stock them up and they have 2 hours to do it. This help the staff to develop, because they have it away whats their performance, and what they can do to improve it next time. flip Targets SMART is a proficiency apply to work out how useful a set of objectives are. All the targets needs to be specific, they should have a focus and not be vague. They need to be measurable, so they should include something that can be calculated. They also need to be achievable, so if staff do not designate they can achieve their targets they will be demotivated. Also it needs to be realistic in relation to both the resources and skills available, and the overall goals of the organisation and it needs to have a time-bound, so it must ha ve an end so that success can be measured. This helps to develop staff because using SMART technique the staff are clear about the objective and they are sure that it is achievable, because if staff thinks that it is unachievable they get demotivated. BenchmarkingBenchmarking can be used to measure organisations performance by comparing themselves to other organisations and matching or olympian their performance. For example ASDA will analyse itself to all big supermarkets in UK such as Sainsburys, Morrisons, and Tesco etc. This help to develop staff because they compare themselves to their competitors and it is actually clear on how they are doing, and this helps to improve the business, because if other business is doing better then they need to figure out what they are doing handle and how to change it. Probation Pretty much(prenominal) all businesses will have a probation period for new employees. This means that they will be closely monitored for a certain period of time an d their performance will be measured so the business is certain that this person is fit of doing the job and is a cover candidate. Business such as Tesco will have a short probation period because the job doesnt require a high skill and it doesnt take long to find out if the person is right for the job, but jobs like teachers or doctors will have lifelong probation periods, because it takes some time to find out if the candidate is assailable of doing a job, and their probation period will be around 9 months but can be longer. Also when people are on probation period this gives the right to the employer to fire them for no reason. Probation period helps to develop staff because if they are on a probation period, they are nether more pressure and makes them more focused about understanding the business and doing their job at their best ability. estimate Appraisal is another method of measuring performance in a business. This means that at the end of the year the employee and emp loyer will sit down and review the year, the employee will say what he thinks hes through rattling well, and the employer will say what they think theyve done well and whatthey need to work on. This is helps to develop staff because the employer tells the staff on how they are playing and what they have been doing very well and what they have been doing not so well, and gives them advice on how to improve or change it. Supporting employees Theres couple ways of how you can support employees. One of them is teaching, this means that someone in the workplace will help them that is just above their positions and has been in their position previously, so they can pass on some of their knowledge and explain the job. Theres two types of mentoring formal and informal.Formal mentoring means that the mentor will have paper work with them and will monitor them and will write everything down. Informal mentoring means that the mentor will only have a chat with them or help them but wouldnt write anything down. Also another way to support the employees is buddying up. For example in ASDA a new employer will be partnered up with someone that is on the selfsame(prenominal) level as them but has been working for a long period of time and knows their job very well, so the new employer can work with them for couple of days to get to know the job and the other person can help them if they get confused or stuck. This helps to develop staff because people get demotivated and getting support from other staff or the manager helps to improve their performance, because some people get stuck and are not sure how to do a job theyve been given, and some help from the manager can sort that out, also just having a chat with them might also help because some people just need to know that someone cares about them and how theyre getting on.Occupational Health pot are human beings and can get stressed when they are pushed to work hard, so the employers need to think about how to release that stress. For example they could put some plants in the fleck, because plants produce oxygen which helps people to relax. Also if the office is very warm think about putting an air con to cool it down, because when people are hot they tend to get very stressed out.For example all Tesco stores have air con, so all of their employees are cool and dont get stressed out as much. This helps to develop staff because for example, if the working conditions in Tesco are very hot the employees might not work very well, and they will get very stressed, but if they install air conditioning and make the store cool, the staff will work a lot better and will be a lot happier, because they are not hot and theyre comfortable. Managing workloadsPeople get very stressed out when they are under pressure and have a lot of things to do, so it is very important for a business to balance it out, and spread workload equally, for example Tesco will divide people into section and give the same amount of s helves to stock up, so its fair on everyone. This helps to develop staff because openhanded them a lot of workload will demotivated them and sometimes even push them into leaving the job because they are stressed and lose motivation, so by reducing workload and sharing the workload equally, this will release the stress and staff will have more motivation.Delegating authority and responsibility By giving more authority and responsibility can motivate employees but it is very important to monitor how it is working, in order to forefend errors and costly mistakes, which can affect employer in terms of money and reputation, also it might lead to dismissing the employee. For example Tesco manager will be trustworthy for hiring new people and they might hire someone that is not capable of doing the job which might cost Tesco money. This will help to develop staff because they will feel like they are trusted, so they will be more focussed and will try to prove to their employer that they are capable of doing the job. Capacity Capacity relates to the amount of work or products that can be produced or is being produced. Using as much capacity as possible should lead to lower costs for the business, so employers need to see to it that employees are performing well without putting them under so much pressure that they suffer with stress and then become ill.Linking rewards to performance braggy rewards to people for doing a good job or achieving or exceeding a target motivates people to work harder. For example Tesco manager will get a bonus for achieving or exceeding the stores targets. He then might share it with the team, to keep them motivated. This helps to develop the staff, because everyone loves getting a reward if they do a good job, because it shows that their employer cares about them and also gives them a moxie of achievement, and makes themselves feel good, because they did a good job.

Philosophy in Education Essay

With the rise in technology and the globalizing economy, educators and companies today atomic number 18 finding ways to find suitable mechanisms to enhance study among individualists. The challenge now is for educators to synthesize the technology available and collaborate on the proper schooling method to address the needs of students today into the future. At the same time, students and take oners mustinessiness carefully piece out ideas and facts that will be suitable in the learning process. With the cooperation of both parties, full and quality facts of life shall be achieved.I believe that every individual has their utmost rely to learn and each one has their own subjective interests and field that they postulate to study. With this in mind, every individual seeks to find an institution that will render to their need to learn. Thus, it is on that pointfore important for institutions like colleges, universities and schools to continually solidify and predominate t hese interests for it to be beneficial in each ones future endeavor. However the crusade must not nevertheless be one-sided the action must also come from the students desire and efforts to learn. For students, efficient teaching practices are life-sustaining in the development of their individual skills and talents. Educators must continually be trained to address the current demand and needs of students. In addition, with the evolution in the literature and studies as far as education is concerned, issues such as (1) learning, (2) teaching styles, (3) models and (4) proper funding must be incessantly address to ensue that each one is coping up in the recent changes in time.As far as students are concerned, their part and contribution to the learning process and education is also decisive for the sector to be successful. Students in their own way must throw to the rise of educational quality brought about by schools, universities and colleges. Since they are the manoeuvre po pulation of the mentioned institutions, each one must foster and catalyze continuous improvements. In addition, as courses and fields of study become more specialized, students must cope with the challenges and try to gather as much knowledge as they possibly house because the environment changes in the prune out community. Achieving a detail in a college, university or school does not stop an individual from learning and being educated. I believe that continuous education is vital in the work environment. The work environment also caters to an individuals learning process. As the worker continuous to gain experience from work, the sense and level of learning and education also increases. However, I argue that there will come a certain point wherein an individual who is work reaches his/her optimum potential to learn. With this, there will now be a decline in learning as familiarization and a routinely work environment enters the picture. Thus, the challenge for companies is to continually motivate workers and introduce tender concepts to correct the atmosphere more susceptible to learning and education.Companies must create scenarios that can enhance workers education and learning. This can be done by (1) creating efficient and effective training that will update workers of changes, (2) provide incentives to qualified workers to espouse a higher career in education, (3) synchronize company objectives by allowing gradual changes to occur to prevent growth stagnation of the workforce and (4) introducing new concepts that will preferably facilitate better methods to do quality work and at the same time learning. It is said that the only thing that does not change is change itself. Education and the learning processes are continuous to win through time. With this in mind, mankind must also address these changes for us to adapt and be capable of survival in the future. Mans constant quest for knowledge does not stop at school, it only progresses and increas es as he/she gains experience in the work environment. Education as a concept is not stagnant. One must strive and work hard to achieve his/her endeavors in life. This is my philosophy with regards to education.

Discuss the Reasons We Forget, and Give at Least Three Examples of How We May Improve Our Memory.

Memory refers to the processes that argon employ to store, retain and ulterior retrieve entropy these processes are cognize as convert, stor while and retrieval. unless with stock comes the natural phenomenon of forgetting which refers to the in index to regain, recall or recognise study that was, or still is, stored in semipermanent keeping. at that place are legion(predicate) an(prenominal) reasons that we forget in lineation but these send packing be grouped into quadruplet main categories retrieval affliction, deterrent, failure to store and motivated forgetting (Loftus 1999).Although there are to a fault homoy strategies that we discharge utilization in order to better our recollection. Retrieval failure is one of the most common causes of forgetting and one assertable explanation of this is cognize as the declension theory. This theory gives an explanation of forgetting as a problem of availability that is, culture is lost completely from the memory s ystem through with(predicate) disuse and passing of time which as examined by Hebb in 1949. It is biological processes in the wizard which cause the trace decay until eventually the message it carried is lost. This theory has led to further research by scientists to look at how neural circuits metamorphose when long-term memory forms and furthermore, how changes such(prenominal) as this could decay oer time (Villarreal et al. , 2002). However it has been also been criticised in the sense that we do still recall things we havent purview about for a long time such as sit a bike although weve not been re sensitiveing the corporal memories in the in the meantime the memory is still there. Also, some professional actors are able to tell apart lines from productions they were in 2 years earlier despite having learnt other scripts since (Noice and Noice, 2002b). The interference theory proposes that we forget nurture referable to other items in long-term memory impairing our abili ty to retrieve it (Postman and Underwood 1973), twain pillow slips of this are known as proactive and retroactive interference. Proactive interference happens when old information blocks disrupt the remembering of relate new information. An utilisation of this would be if you changed passwords you whitethorn continue to enter your old password and struggle to remember your new one out-of-pocket to the memory of your old password interfering with your ability to retrieve the new one. Retroactive interface happens when new information blocks or disrupts the retrieval of old information, for example aft(prenominal) having your new password for two months if asked to recall your old one you may struggle to remember it. load advise occur due to the mentality taking time to change hort-term memories into long-term memories and some researchers have proposed when new information enters the system it can interfere with the conversion of older information into long-term memories (Wi xted 2005). Others have express that once long-term memories are created retroactive and proactive interference happens due to competition among retrieval hints (Anderson and Neely, 1996). When dissimilar memories become related to similar or identical retrieval cues, confusion can result and accessing a cue may call up the wrong memory. In forgetting, failure to store is also known as encoding failure which occurs when information isnt bear on enough in order to r for each one long-term memory. A well-known(a) experiment asked participants to identify the correct U. S penny out of a group of incorrect pennies (Nickerson and Adams 1979). The coins appearance doesnt serve significance to many of us meaning we may not notice specific expatiate no matter how very much we see them every day, the only expatiate needed to distinguish pennies from other coins are encoded in our long-term memory. We die hard to notice information but fail to encode it deeply because we convolute our attention to something else. Angelica Bonacci and Brad Bushman (2002) conducted an experiment where they randomly selected three speed of light and twenty-eight adults to watch either a sexually straightforward, uncivilized or neutral television programme. During each programme there were nine adverts, forthwith afterward and again a day later the researchers tested viewers memory of the advertisements. On both occasions the viewer that watched the sexually explicit and violent programmes remembered the fewest number of adverts. One factor that could explain this is encoding failure although all the viewers saw the advertisements participants watching the sexually explicit and violent programmes were preoccupied with thoughts about the content of the shows. Motivated forgetting sop ups place when people actively work to forget memories, especially of those traumatic or disturbing experiences. There are two basic forms of motivated forgetting suppression, a conscious form of forg etting and repression, an unconscious(p) form of forgetting.Psychologist Sigmund Freud witnessed many of his patients during therapy to recall long-forgotten traumatic events. He save one patient remembering with great shame that as she stood over her sisters coffin thinking to herself Now my brother-in-law is free to marry me. Freud proposed the idea that this memory was so shocking that the woman repressed it until being rediscovered years later. Repression is used by humans to protect ourselves in a sense by blocking the conscious recall of negative memories. However the image of repression is debatable due to some evidence supporting and some rejecting the theory (Karon, 2002). Although people often forget unpleasant and traumatic events they also forget nice ones. This closure raises the question whether a person not remembering a cross anxiety-arousing experience is due to repression or normal information processing failures (Epstien and Bottoms, 2002). boilersuit its dif ficult to study scientifically whether repression is the cause of memory issue for negative events that have occurred (Holmes 1990).Amnesia is known to be one of the most epochal types of forgetting. This occurs when someone suffers memory loss due to special conditions such as brain injury, illness or psychological trauma . In his criminal record Human Memory Theory and Practice (1997) Baddeley refers to Amnesia as not an all or nothing condition in the sense that amnesiacs can appear to be relatively normal. He speaks of a man called Clive article of clothing who, after being stricken with encephalitis causing him to be unconscious for many weeks from an attack, suffered from Amnesia.Although Clive looked healthy his Amnesia was so severe he couldnt remember more than a few minutes earlier, when his wife left over(p) the room on her return he would greet her as if hed just woken from his coma despite it being months after. Another type of forgetting is Dementia when impaired memory and other cognitive deficits accompany brain degeneration and interfere with normal functioning. There are many causes of hallucination one of which being Alzheimers disease which is a progressive brain disorder most commonly found among people over the age of sixty-five.This disease spreads across temporal lobes to the frontal lobes and other cortical regions and as it progresses working and long-term memory get worse. Although there will be things that we forget in time there are strategies we can use to improve our memory, one of which being through organization and typery. Ericsson and Polson (1988) researched a man known as JC who was a restaurant waiter that was able to take complicated orders from up to twenty people and remember them perfectly without indite them down. They discovered that JC had created an organizational scheme to help his memory. He would divide customers into four categories (entree, temperature, array dish, dressing) and use another system to encode the orders in each kinsperson, for example he encoded dressing by its first letter so the orders of one thousand Island, oil and vinegar, blue cheese and oil and vinegar would become TOBO. Organizing information in a scheme such as this is a useful way of improving memory. Organizing information into hierarchies highlights the principle that memory is improved by associations between concepts (Bower et al. 1969). Hierarchies help us understand how one-on-one items are related as the information is processed from top to bottom each category prompts our memory for the item below it. Due to hierarchies having visual organization, imagery can be used as a supplemental memory code. hoard is another valuable concept used to enhance memory and is when individual items are grouped together into larger units of meaning making information easier to rehearse, keep active in working memory and transfer into long-term memory. One idea that has been proposed is that information is stor ed in long-term memory in two forms verbal codes and visual codes (Allan Paivio 1969). Paivio had a dual coding theory which claimed encoding information using both verbal and visual codes improved memory due to the odds increasing because at least one of the codes is procurable later to assist recall. However dual coding can be difficult to use with particular types of stimuli, for example constructing a mental image of love is difficult to do due to it being an abstract concept rather than a concrete object (Paivio et al. , 2000).Memory experts have however advance the use of imagery in dual-coding information. Method of loci, created by ancient Greeks, acts as a memory aid by associating information with mental images of physical locations distinct to the individual, such as their campus. If using this process the individual would tie-in each location with an item that they were trying to remember such as the components of working memory. In this instance the administration bu ilding could be known as the central executive, an art studio (visuospatial sketchpad), the music room (phonological loop) and the report building (episodic buffer). This concept would take practise however there are many studies which support it showing its validity (Wang and Thomas, 2000). It appears that forgetting tends to happen soon after first learning information however the time frame and story of forgetting can vary broadly due to a variety of factors, those of which the subsidisation has discussed. It is a guarantee that no individuals memory can hold each and everything that they learn, however that doesnt mean that their memory cannot be improved through various experimenters strategies thus decreasing the amount forgotten.

Ethical Egoism

Ethical egoism, in my belief, is non the moral theory that men should follow or harp by. Simply put, my belief stems from the multiple inconsistencies and contradictions that atomic number 18 inherent in the utter normative system. Self-interest and self-preservation, although very valuable, are not, in my opinion, the primary factors that should advertise a mans spiritedness. It is because, I believe, by purely pastime ones aver interests, man fails to consider the greater picture, that world the peace and harmony in society.More importantly, I believe that man support be mountn by other desires and motives in his moral actions. Hobbes assertion is that man should use his power to preserve himself and to do what he essential in order to satisfy his own interests. His of import assumption regarding the mortalality of man is that man is an agent of self-centeredness who is prepared to harm others in order to obtain what he believes is best for him. Furthermore, Hobbe s states that man is governed by his own reason and that every man has the right to everything. Such statement is what Hobbes c everys the fundamental law of disposition. However, Hobbes believes that if it is in the self-seeking and preservation of ones life to land into a covenant with another, man is bound to abide by much(prenominal) covenant. Contracts are reached when both parties feel that it is in their best interests to enter and agree to the terms. Breaking a covenant or a stick is considered unjust in Hobbes view. Hobbes idea is that man must submit to trusted moral rules out of fear of conflict which is to his best interests. Basically, Hobbes suggested that a humankind being acts chastely because it is in his self-interest to do so.There have been versatile philosophers who have raised arguments and objections against Hobbes views. One of such philosophers is H. A. Prichard. In Prichards plosive consonant of view, there is no need to whether self-interest and m orality run in parallel with each other. Instead, he suggests that human beings have reasons other than self-interest to act morally. One such reason is the innate desire in humans to do the right thing. Prichard suggests that having motives other than self-interest allows us to visit whether an individual who has done something moral deserves praise or not.Without the presence of other motives, self-interest depart be the only driving factor and thus, will remove any possible distinction between two persons committing the aforementioned(prenominal) moral act. Brodys argument with regards to the basis of morality on self-interest is that human beings can have other motives for being moral. Admitting that all actions are based on the satisfaction of a certain desire, Brody states that humans may have desires for something else other than his own well-being. Brody believes that selfish motives are indeed a possible source of moral actions. However, he asserts that this does not mea n that all moral actions stem from selfish motives alone. In other words, egoism is not clearly established as the sole source of morality. My belief that respectable egoism is not the correct moral theory agrees with Brodys assertions. aside from the points that Brody has raised, I believe that honorable egoism fails to consider the possibility that men act not for their own interests alone. The interests of another person may drive the man to act morally especially if such a person is deeply valued. For instance a parent may act morally not for her own interests but for that of her children.Ethical egoism fails to consider that human nature includes certain emotions that are driving factors of ones actions. Emotions or feelings such as love, care, and affection are also possible motives for actions. These have not been taken into account by ethical egoism. Thus, it is my personal belief that ethical egoism is not the correct moral theory. Reference Arthur, John. 2005. moral phi losophy, Religion, and Conscience. In Arthur, J. Compare and Contrast of the The Shang-Zhou River Valley and Egypt

Egypt and the Shang-Zhou Dynasty were two powerful and influential civilization who faced equivalent ideas in their government, and defense strategies, unless differed when it came to cultural rituals, and the use of natural resources.A warm form of government is essential to any civilization, and although Egypt and Shang-Zhou were both successful, they both utilize different and similar methods to conform to their religious and social standards.Egypt used a Pharaoh as their king, which they claim the pharaoh was sent from a god in lay to maintain maat, the distinctive order of the universe. On the contrary, the Shang- Zhou Dynasty followed their throw theory of the Mandate of Heaven. The Mandate of Heaven served as a theme for the Chinese government for three thousand years, and was used when a principle had neglected his duties such as dishonoring gods, expressing tyranny, or ignoring warning signs of disasters heaven could remover this assign and put it in the possession of a more worthy pattern or family. After a ruler has fulfilled their duties and depart the physical world, both Egypt and the Shang-Zhou dynasty honor them in every way possible, however both involve separate rituals and beliefs in how they should be honored. In Egypt, the Pharaoh is built a rare pyramid in which their body is mummified, and buried deep down in the structure. During the Shang-Zhou Dynasty, the royal family and the elite families were not buried in a pyramid, but rather in tombs with many of possessions they might need in the afterlife. To d entirelyy a successful government, there has to be order and record retentiveness to keep from conflict and having all property, belongings, etc. needs to be officially stated. The Egyptians developed their own writing, known as hieroglyphics, on papyrus to records all their statements. Instead of hieroglyphics and papyrus, the Shang-Zhou also developed their own writing of symbols which they wrote on illusionist bones to keep order in their society. A signifi arseholet nexus between the two is that both civilizations were a theocracy because they both believed that their leader was heaven-sent and the closest to God. Both Egypt and the Shang-Zhou Dynasty shared the idea of charging taxes in exchange for landowning and expediency in the military.Charging taxes influenced many civilizations because in order to be a resident, slightly sort of service or duty had to be given in exchange. In retrospect, Egypt and the Shang-Zhou dynasty both shared similarities in their government which helped them grow as a large, powerful society, but also varied in roughly methods mostly because of religion beliefs.Environment plays an intense role in any theatrical role of the world because it determines the lifestyle for how that civilization will prosper over time. universe located in Africa, near the equator, Egypt has the consistent face of a hot, dry, and happy climate. The Shang-Zhou dynasty territory is locatedeast of Africa and slightly towards the north. Therefore, Southern china gets weighed down rainfall due to the monsoons in India and surrounding areas, and the northern part of China gets rainfall as well, but is inconsistent. Being that China gets a handsome amount of rain, most of their agriculture is dependent on that rainfall. Instead of depending on rainfall, Egypt is primarily dependent on the Nile River which is the longest river and provides the best source of irrigation.A gather to both the Shang-Zhou Dynasty and Egypt is that they both are in some way encircled by natural barriers which serve as a mechanism for defense. Egypt has the Nile River which makes it troublesome for invaders to get across to attack. The Shang-Zhou area has the Himalaya mountain range to the southwest, the Pamir and Tian Mountains and the Takla Makan Desert to the west, as well as the major rivers, the Yellow and the Yangtze, to also help to nurture their society. Natural barriers are a huge advantage and blessing because they can distinctively mark territories as well as serve for each one civilization in a way as to help them progress and develop while lowering the likelihood of getting attacked and weakening a civilization. The natural elements are what make a society capable of easy and both Egypt and the Shang-Zhou Dynasty used all of their resources to their advantage to prosgress into a sophisticated and passing respected culture and society.

A Votre Sante Teaching Note Essay

Additionally, the miscue enquires require both(prenominal) quantitative and qualitative analyses of the stock issues faced by AVS. AVS has been used in a graduate-level managerial accounting system class for MBAs, and would be most appropriate for an advanced undergraduate or a graduate-level accounting or MBA course. The detail in the case is mystifying enough to support a variety of analyses. Alternative uses could be to switch the student construct a cost of goods manufactured statement or a traditional financial statement, both of which reinforce the differences between growth and period cost. Additionally, alternative decision analysis questions could be developed utilise the variable and fixed cost structures described in the case. Case question number two is only one example of a effectiveness decision analysis question. The contribution margin income statement ( instruction Note render 1) is fairly straightforward, with the following concepts or calculations causing the most difficultyThe inclusion body of liquor taxes and sales commissions in variable costs These are both period expenses, but are clearly base upon the number of bottles sold, and thusly are included in the variable costs.Where to include the vino captain expense Since the vino master is paid according to number of blends, not number of bottles, this expense is listed as a fixed cost. Arguably, it could be listed as a variable cost, given thatthe cost exit be based on the number of wine-coloureds produced. As part of the discussion we will establish the rationale behind listing wine master as a fixed or a variable expense.Barrel expense The case states that the put produce the equivalent of 40 cases of wine. A case of wine is post-fermentation/bottling and therefore after the 10% loss has occurred. The barrels contain the wine at the start of the process. Therefore, there have to be enough barrels to hold all the wine at the beginning of the process, not at the end. Thi s factor results in 63 (62.5) barrels being required for the harvest2.Teaching Note Exhibit 1 Contribution Margin Income Statement piece b asks, What is the maximum amount that AVS would pay to buy an additional mystify of Chardonnay grapes? There are three parts to calculating this response the benefit from the additional Chardonnay wine to be sold, the relevant costs related to producing this wine and the opportunity cost of not producing as very much Blanc de Blanc wine.Teaching Note Exhibit 2 displays the calculations relevant to this decision. Chardonnay fifty-fifty wine requires a 2 to 1 mixture of Chardonnay and generic wine exsanguine grapes. Therefore, the 18,000 pounds of Chardonnay grapes will be combined with 9,000 pounds of generic white grapes. The 27,000 pounds of grapes will result in an additional 9,000 bottles of new Chardonnay habitue wine being produced. However, it will also result in a 3,000-bottle decrease in the amount of Blanc de Blanc wine produced, s ince some generic grapes will now be used for the Chardonnay-regular wine. Recall that only Chardonnay wine is processed in barrels.

Proud to be Federal: A System that Money and Rhetoric Cannot Buy Essay

If I were on a bet, I have to choose either my dignity or wealth, as a principled citizen of America, I would choose my dignity. The ego could non be equated to money. The resembling way as the established principle and placement could not be price tagged with million bills and euphemized sales talk. United States of America (US) is glob solelyy kn deliver the most powerful country in the world. The president of us is known to be the most powerful man in the world, as well. Back from the early times wherein the US colonized several countries.States, and archipelagones in different continents, it already showed its power and leadership among these colonized countries. Their victory in wars exemplified their strength and supremacy among new(prenominal) nation. Up to these days, US is undeniably be revered by other countries considering that it belongs to the first world countries, which be c exclusivelyed as capitalists. The US g overning follows the Federal arrangement by wh ich there is a central authorities for the whole country of US and there be local brass units for each of the 50 nations that it has.In matters of decision-making, the state government could decide on its own as long as it could be settled along the state level. The Federal government of course of instruction, has its power in decision-making concerning much the US as a whole. Yet, it similarly involves in decision-making in the state level since it is the central government. In this case, we could see that our government becomes much than specific and focus to one state unit than referring one government all over the 50 states that compose our country. In such way, problems and issues in the state level could be easily settled because there atomic number 18 specific state governors whom could address accepted issues involving the state and the citizenry. This pattern of system, which has more than one government, is an effective way of ruling the people and the state sin ce the leader of a particular state could focus more in their state problems with less regards with the problems of the other states. If only the central government would address all the issues and concerns of all the 50 states and the citizenry, there could be hard focus and spec of resolutions in the problems arising in different states. We could say that our country has been developed decades ago and has already established an almost stable system of living. This technical socio-economic emplacement of our country is being experienced now by most American citizen, if not all. We are ahead of trading with different partner countries in the world. In the version of Keeping the Economy Strong in the chairmans FY2008 Budget, new investments and good innovations from outside and inside the country are expected since the Presidents tax relief is permanently winning effect. This is to ensure the continuous economic growth of the US. Moreover, the handable health services, better qu ality of education, and security and stability of talent source are more focused by the central government system since it would assure the growth and development of the Americans. These socio-economic per se are the considerations to take to help all American people more productive. However, our country, as it is combating the terrorism act world wide, it lessens its viability in damage of economic role in terms of partnership with other countries. The US government focuses its external relation with other countries in terms of defense and state security. But in ruling the state, the federal system is taking place effectively. Likewise, since the federal government is the main and central dominion of the states of the US, it launches several weapons platforms, which entitled as Top 10 Federal Benefits and assist Programs. The first three plans generally focus on the health eyeshot of the beneficiaries, First of this program is the Medicare, which enables the disabled and 65 a nd above year darkened citizen to receive medical insurance. It also includes those people who have permanent kidney unsoundness (End-Stage Renal Disease) and could only be treated by dialysis. The second program is the Medical Prescription Drug Program. This program encompasses the entire citizen, such that, they could debase medicines and drugs with low cost. It could also protect the citizen from the increasing cost of the prescribed drugs. The triplet program pertains to the Medicaid that provides people with low socio-economic status with medical insurance peculiarly those who are not covered with the first program. The fourth one, which is called the Social credentials Retirement, benefits the retired workers and employees in lieu of their service to the compevery or the government they had been employed. The 5th program is named Stafford Student Loans. This gives opportunity and assistance to those who are in lowgraduate study and even those who are in graduate study a ll over the America. It does not specify that its restriction is for American citizen only, yet, it dos prioritized of course the America people. The sixth one is the Food Stamps that would enable those people who belonged to low-income class to buy their foods. These foods are at low cost and are mainly the needed foods to improve the diets of the American people. On the other hand, the seventh program, which is called hint Food Assistance, provides the needy most people and the elders with food without any cost. The eighth one is the Employment and Training Assistance. It helps the citizen to improve their skills to get a good job. It also helps old employees to reemploy or search for new jobs. This program also provides placement assistance and information regarding the labor status, adepts, and responsibilities. The ninth one which covers the tribute of the citizen is called Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers is the program that is responsible for purvey of decent home and sa fe settlements for the low-income citizen. If not fully given homes, the program also addresses the housing rental at an affordable cost. The tenth and the destruction one is the Home Weatherization Assistance. This program is considered the largest assistance program fro those citizen who could not afford game cost of energy. nether the Department of Energy, it provides help to the citizen to conserve the energy they are using to avoid the burden of high-energy utilization. After all these main benefits low the system of Federalism, which mainly focus on the single(a) and community level of the society, the fiscal policy changed into monetary policy. This falls under the over all economic facade and status of the economy of the US.Under the U. S. Federal reserve System, this agency, commonly known as the Fed, is being comprised by the 12 major federal reserve banks and 25 the same single out branches. The control of fluctuation of the US economy is mainly established to honor out for the trend of the business firms. This is a vigilant watch for the tendencies of travel and rising of the economic status of the people. Another agency has been reformed under the Federal system, which is called Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives (OFBCI), which has been under the blanched House. It generally focuses on four major aspects such as sound guidance with partnering with the Federal government, accessing private resources, promote volunteerism, outcomes-focused Planning and Evaluation, and grant indite tutorials for five federal programs. This program mainly fights the societal disease in the state. For example, the Violence Free Zone, which entailed that no one should be harmed in the certain area declared as Violence Free Zone. The gangers, which are largely youths, have given another chance to redirect their path as they are following. The faith-based community was observed to be inadequate, such that, the OFBCI caters most the subordinate groups which are lackings of the provision of the social services. These aforementioned issues are just testimonies on how the hand of the Federal system works in the US. The fact that the US has undergone a Federal system, democracy and equal rights of citizen are still taken into considerations. Though, racial discrimination in our country still in its existence, the well-being of the people is still on the top list of the federal that forecast to be accomplished in the range of demands of the society. These are to show the self-respect and honor of being an American and being under the Federal system, which certainly, other countries might be looking up to. The influence of our system could not only be seen here inside the country but also in the country it had been partnered with or colonized. The federal system, as what Robert Longley described in his article entitle U. S. Government 101, the system is perfect, yet it could lead to poke fun of power in an instant. But the people an d the state governments, which have their own power could mitigate that and prevent such thing to happen. The success and the high status that our country is portraying now could also attributed to the political work force themselves. Like what Alexander Hamilton and James Madison had been said in Federalists 51, In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this you must first enable the government to control the governed and in the next place oblige it to control itself. On how the US is being modified by different leaders and the system as the tool they had used to mold the shape that the US has right now, is an attribution. The system they had been left and the system that was established was priceless. No negotiation could give away the system, such that, it would always impose its rule and law governing the American people. People around the globe look at us otherwise and powerfully. The supremacy we have gained for years c ould not be bought by any monetary value.

Shaka Zulu

Shaka Zulu was the first son of the caputtain Senzangakhona and Nandi, a daughter of Bhebhe, the past chief of the Elangeni tribe, born near present-day Melmoth, KwaZulu-Natal Province. He was conceived out of wedlock well-nighwhere between 1781 and 1787. Shaka almost certainly spent his childhood in his mothers settlements. Shaka served as an Mthethwa warrior for perhaps as long as ten years, and distinguished himself with his courage, though he did not, as legend has it, rise to great position.Dingiswayo, having himself been exiled after a failed attempt to oust his father, had, along with a number of other groups in the region (including Mabhudu, Dlamini, Mkhize, Qwabe, and Ndwandwe, many probably responding to slaving pressures from southern Mozambique) helped develop new ideas of armament and social organization. On the death of Senzangakhona, Dingiswayo aided Shaka to defeat his brother and imbibe leadership in 1816. He became the leader of the Zulu Kingdom from 1816 throug h 1828.As Shaka became more respected by his people, he was able to spread his ideas with great ease. Because of his background as a soldier, Shaka taught the Zulus that the most effective way of adequate powerful quickly was by conquering and controlling other tribes. His teachings greatly influenced the social outlook of the Zulu people. The Zulu tribe soon developed a warrior judgement frame, which made it easier for Shaka to build up his armies.Dingane and Mhlangana, Shakas half-brothers, appear to seduce made at least two attempts to assassinate Shaka before they succeeded, with perhaps support from Mpondo elements, and some disaffected iziYendane people. While the British colonialists considered his regime to be a future tense threat, allegations that white traders wished his death are problematic given that Shaka had granted concessions to whites precedent to his death, including the right to settle at Port Natal (now Durban). Shaka had made replete enemies among his o wn people to hasten his demise. It came relatively quickly after the bareness ca employ by Shakas erratic behavior after the death of his mother Nandi. check to Donald Morris in this mourning period Shaka ordered that no crops should be put during the following year, no milk was to be used, and any woman who became big(predicate) was to be killed along with her husband. At least 7,000 people who were deemed to be insufficiently grief-stricken were executed, though it wasnt restricted to humans, cows were slaughtered so that their calves would know what losing a mother felt like. The Zulu monarch was killed by three assassins sometime in 1828 September is the most often cited date, when almost all available Zulu manpower had been sent on yet another mass sweep to the north. few older histories have doubted the military and social innovations customarily attributed to Shaka, denying them outright, or attributing them variously to European influences. More modern researchers argue that such explanations fall short, and that the cosmopolitan Zulu culture which included other tribes and clans, contained a number of practices that Shaka could have force on to fulfill his objectiveswhether in raiding, conquest or hegemony.Shaka is often state to have been dissatisfied with the long throwing assegai, and credited with introducing a new melodic phrase of the weapon the iklwa, a short stabbing spear with a long, sword-like spearhead. Shaka is as well supposed to have introduced a larger, heavier shield made of cowhide and to have taught each warrior how to use the shields left side to hook the enemys shield to the right, exposing his ribs for a fatal spear stab. The throwing spear was not discarded but used as an initial missile weapon before close progress to with the enemy when the shorter stabbing spear was used in contribute to hand combat.

Globalization and Technology Essay

Friedman explains how 10 ingredients, he c consentaneous(prenominal)s flatteners which has inadvertently brought thoroughly-nigh a unused global business environment. The 1st flattener is the Fall of the Berlin groin, w here Friedman explains how on 11/09/89 the Berlin ring came d own and exposed the continents into hotshot globalize trading world. Friedman explains ab give a room six months after the Berlin Wall fall the Windows Op periodting System computer chip exploded and launched the beginning earned run average of net PC revolution. He calls this era The Fall of The Walls and the Rise of The Windows. Explaining how the Wall stood in the appearance of globalization. Six months after the Wall Fell the Windows run System 3.0 shifted and created a single graphical interface. The 2nd flattener was the date 08/09/95 having an immense impact which I believe is a milestone in the hi tale of our engineering science growth and its repercussions was when Netscape, a internet browser (which is a drop box that is illustrated on computer screens giving a fusillade of availability to the internets world wide web of schooling and created an open highway with no accelerate limits), went public. As Netscape became open to all muckle at their finger tips it played a key hustle adorning item-by-items with massive mensurations of information and helped commercialize and set open standards, equally facilitating all of the worlds people with close to the same chance of opportunities for growth. This phenomenon is greatly indicative to the remaining of doubting doubting Thomas Friedmans flatteners and their implications, true(p) and bad, on tender kind essentially defining what he meant with the statement The initiation Is mo nonone. The Netscape browser brought the internet to biography and gave us the .com boom creating a cockle of wild crazy investments which facilitated the fiber optic boom. Friedman explains how an overinvestment of 1 trillion d ollars in five years into fiber optic cable inadvertently committed the world through the internet. Which lead us to the Workflow Softw be, the tertiary flattener where all the software political programs and standards that connect PCs with bands of cable to allow work to flow, such(prenominal) as Microsoft Word. These events fountain a technology revolution, which virtually connected everyones application to everyone elses application. Creating a natural global platform where Friedman describes this era as a collaboration of platforms, flattening the world. This platform marks the end of a new beginning as Freidman describes The Genesis Moment. Freidman explains how this Genesis event fueled a network connectingpeople to people, companies with companies, people with companies and much people with more assorted places and so. Thus, starts the emergence of Freidmans theory The World Is Flat. This new platform is based on a collaboration of the following six flatteners. Starting with the 4th flattener in which Friedman labels as Outsourcing was reinforced around the Y2K fade. Outsourcing was the product of collaboration which allows departments of large companies to work proscribed of State, and more so, to work out of our country. This collaboration aided companies to disaggregate a good counterbalance of their business processes and source it out to anywhere around the world at a lesser cost than it would have some otherwisewise cost here in the US.Outsourcing gave way for companies to take advantage of high skilled laborers with inexpensive wages, utilizing them as vehicles for companies to pull in profits and develop an exponential boost of in effect(p) efficiency by tremendously improving their overall performance and operations increasing profit margins. Although, many Ameri lot companies probably did non balk to analyze the repercussions of their gains. The 5th flattener is Off Shoring, which is built around china joining the World Trade Organization. Off-shoring is taking an entire circumstanceory and physically moving it from the U.S. to a foreign country and integrating into global production operations. The 6th flattener is Open-Sourcing where the writing of Linux was created. Linux is a computer in operation(p) system program and is the biggest contests to Microsofts operating system program. This new operating system Linux was created by a collaboration of computer scientists on the internet who demanded no money for their efforts allowing this free program to be downloaded by anyone who seeks it out.Linux is the biggest competitor to Microsoft whereby under cutting Microsoft, Friedman emphasis, how it would be hard to bet zero. issue Chain is the 7th flattener which is built around Wal-Mart, as Freidman stated, represents the construction of a hyper-efficient, down to the last part of efficiency global supply strand of operations. Wal-Mart triumphfully capitalized on MIT (management information technol ogy). An example is where as you take an decimal point off a Wal-Mart shelf in one city, that item ordain immediately be in production in China. Surprisingly, Wal-Mart doesnt fashion anything, tho has successfully held itself as the biggest Ameri keister retail company by innovation of a global supply chain to the last atom of efficiency. In-Sourcing is the 8thflattener. UPS, an express package delivery service company capitalized on in-sourcing by taking over internal logistics of companies such as Toshiba. This way of business is not an easy situation but mountain successfully be done by normal standardization company set-up where UPS bequeath repair a broken item of Toshiba products. UPS virtually creates and operates a facts of life of Toshibas repair center.Toshiba go overs to pay UPS to operate this repair services for their nodes in which UPS delivers the repaired product endorse to the original customer where Toshiba never touch their own products. The 9th flattene r is where Friedman describes as Informing examples are Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft search engines. These informing tools allow you to collaborate yourself with unlimited amounts of data, information and resources. Informing is a way where we as individuals can collaborate ourselves with information. The 10th flattener is what Friedman calls Steroids. This is wireless technology, voice over the IP, and advances in computer microchips and storage capacity. He explains how Steroids radicalally turbo charge all nine of these new forms of collaboration and make it so you can now use anyone of these advances from anywhere through any device. These ten flatteners complement all(prenominal) other and converged into a single global web enabled platform.Without plan these events of convergence overlapped and complemented each other, functional to energizeher with multiple forms, melting any worlds gaps and virtually bringing all people together closer than ever before. Friedman summariz es the flatteners by explaining how three convergence of technology makeup the 10 flatteners are as followed 1st crossing Globalization 1.0 where the world changed from Large? to Medium and the doer of this global change were through countries. Globalization 2.0 where the world changed from Medium? to low-spirited and the agent of this global change were through companies, markets and laborers. Globalization 3.0 where the world changed from broken? to Tiny and the agent of this global change were not countries or companies but individuals and small groups.Where individuals world wide, now have access and the ability to facilitate, embrace, and empower themselves individuality with any advancements they may desire. This global change has flattened the frugal playing field geographically through meter, distance and language providing the opportunities of capitalist economy and its byproduct is competition world wide for all people of the world. Essentially, this defines ThomasF riedmans meaning of The World Is Flat. 2nd Convergence The learn for adaptation of our new flat world habits where resources, instead it be internal or synthetic, are more evenly distributed among all living people of the world therefore resulting in a negative amount of resources allocated for each Americans average income level. Friedman tells a detailed personal story when he experienced the flatten world describing how he once lacked new information and therefore failed to take advantage of attaining his airplane flight embarkation pass the night before starting at 1201am. former(a) passengers took advantage and employd their resource tool of new technology where customer service provided by Southwest Airlines internet we2 site. make up thought other passengers on the same airline flight as Thomas Friedman was able to receive their airline-boarding pass the night before the flight.Allowing the other passengers more free time before having to arrive at the drome and not h aving to stand in a waiting line. According the Friedmans writing, we as Americans would have to learn to view the world from a different perspective, understanding and learning competition allow for increase and we may get less for our dollar in the near future. Friedman called this process where people will have to evenize themselves. He explains when the world goes flat the value increasing is not created vertically, in single sections or companies, but is increasingly created horizontally by who is collaborated with what companies, inside and outside your company and/or companies you buy from as consumers. hatful having to horizontalize them selves and to think very different about how we collaborate at bottom firms and with other firms in order to reach new value creation. An example is when computers became available to the average consumer and businesses, people had to adapt to a very different study and work habits in order to collaborate with the new technology. 3rd C onvergence Freidman states the last convergence is since all of this globalize collaboration been accruing there was a massive quite perfect storm was being created 3-billion people who were out of the game walked onto the playing field of trade and consumerism from China, India and the former Soviet Union. Freidman recognizes that just about only 5% of those three billion people can manduction in and play after calculating the numbers it turns outs to 150 meg people, which equal the size of the American workforce today. Freidmans main telephone circuit of his give is the triple convergence of the tenflatteners that are flattening the world, the convergence of a whole new way of doing business is much more horizontal rather vertical including three billion new players. In general, Thomas Friedman finalized his argument by emphasizing the world is flat and Im here to tell you that everything we called IT revolution these last 20 years, was just the unstrain act that has been th e sharpening and the distribution of the tools of collaboration. Now you are going to see several(prenominal) billion people increasing quickly learn how to use and confine those tools across a whole new range and forms of collaboration. I agree with much of Friedmans theories and the flatteners he chose to describe the extreme master(prenominal) impacts that affect our IT revolution world to at which the state it is in today. Freidman chose these events as milestone, where I would add emphasis on the importance of the sequential type of the flatteners events in which they transpired. Much through pure chance the sequence of events our technology growth and it processes just fell into action, rather for better or for worst, it was pass over to happen. And if you ask about Americans if they think we should have not had the opportunity in attaining these advance technology leaps, I would prognosticate that most people would not forgo these gains for anything less regardless of the repercussions. I believe the most essential flattener is 08/09/95 when Netscape went public because it opened an express highway of doors of opportunities with no speed limits, in my opinion, having one of the greatest technological better impacts on kind kind by immediately and direct changing our standard ways of living and increasingly potential capabilities. When Netscape became public it gave us a abundant stepping-stone of advancement connecting the people of the entire world to each other. This change gave way for all of the other leaps of events to unfold without such a change Friedmans other collaboration could not have taken place in the matter in which it did. This technology metamorphosis has allowed people to work from their homes, transport to family members that are out of the country, and educate themselves with tons of information. I agree with Friedman in that cultivation to love acquirement are grand elements missing from our endings view of education tod ay. People must know that learning is never ending. There is always some skill or fact that is unknown that can be learned, but only if that person has a desire to learn. Even though children have the greatest opportunity to gain knowledge, many children do not take advantage of it. They should realize that learning is constant and that education is very powerful. Although I do not agree with Friedman in that learning to love learning is most important elements our participation is missing from our cultures view of education.I believe starting time and foremost public schools from 1st grade all the way to BA degree with in a university should be facilitated and paid for all American children with governmental taxes. National health care and wage insurance can help people survive while they are unemployed. Basically, we Americans should go mainstay to the basics in that our society should enforce (good old fashion morals) basic withdraw that reflects morals and respect utilizing i ntegrity anything we do. The opposite is true in which we allow the media and forms of other public exposure to report stories with exaggerated facts and/or information that adversely affects our childrens view of themselves and everything around them. Should we go back to basic traditional teaching where in the beginning of childs education building a strong foundation in our childrens life incorporating strong work ethics including a strong intellect of pride in the all work and accomplishments attain.I believe if these foundations are bestowed within our childrens lives, the results will give them empowerment, enabling and encouraging our children in the right direction so that, when needed they can educate, empower, enable, and encourage themselves in becoming the most efficient individual collaboration. Understanding this way of life and incorporating these values within our daily lives utilization of less resources. Americans must hump that we may have to learn to live with fewer luxuries and learn to be more conservative with natural resources but not necessary having to accept a weaker economy for the sake of it. There is a limited amount of natural resources available at any given time on earth and after these natural resources are evenly divided out per individual, the amount per individual is very small in size. Therefore, I do believe Americans should start adapting to new ways of living and consume fewer resources per individual. Many people may agree with my belief that Thomas Friedman failed to emphasis, what I call individual re-shapers where Americans should re-evaluate (re-shaping) their morals, integrity, abide by and trust and try to incorporate these ideas within the intra-structure of American families, public schools, public facilities, communities, cities, states, agencies, government, services, products and companies of the United States. If Americans would utilizes the same amount of time and investments, monetary and non-monetary, within our society moral values as whole and start new policies that will complement our global changes. These changes can create with my extremely important idea of individual re-shapers by developing and chastely growing in a positive direction for the better good of all people around the world as a whole. about individual re-shapers are technological advancements within public schools, which is essential for success and may have exponentially increasing our standard of living and helped improved most Americans everyday life by starting with our children.Another individual re-shapers is restricting the media to mislead or avoid the real truth of humanity NEWS and not allow political groups or public positions and agencies to utilize law suites and avoid addressing real society moral problems of the American people. This can facilitate our country to be effective in a uninterrupted society that morally develops at a rate parallel to the repercussions of technologies developmen ts. The most important knowledge I have acquired from Thomas Friedmans book The World Is Flat is the confirmation of my own personal beliefs as well as my personal career plans and professional development that incorporates and utilizes my code of honor and integrity in whatever I do in my life, rather it be a branch manager overseeing many employees, and/or a wife and mother (in which I believe is one of the hardest but important jobs a person can hold) raising children that reflecting the same, if not better, code of conduct in their life.
